Top 10 Best Baby Buys
Are you expecting a little bundle of joy? Or are you a new Mama? I've put together my top 10 best baby buys* to help you - tried and tested by both my girls, Isabella and Lottie.
1. Nurture Ultra Comfort Breast Pads
When you're breastfeeding, especially in the early days, comfortable and secure breast pads are essential! There's nothing worse than doing your shopping, hearing a baby cry in the distance and feeling the let-down of your milk go EVERYWHERE. Soaking through your top and leaving that delicious smell of dried milk everywhere you go. These pads are super sticky so they don't budge when fixed within your bra and their absorbency catches the biggest spills - a MUST for you milk making mamas.
2. SnuzCloud Sleep Aid
Sleep.. the magic word that every Mama craves, in conversation it's usually followed by the word 'deprived.'' Our gorgeous little sleep thieves need cuddles, feeds and reassurance 24/7, which often means sleepless nights for new Mamas. The SnuzCloud Sleep Aid can be a massive help with getting your little ones to settle, so you can get some much-needed rest. I’m not suggesting that this sleep aid should replace cuddles, feeds or generally responding to your baby, but it can be used in conjunction with your usual comforting methods to encourage them to settle.
3. Lictin Baby Bibs with sleeves
Avoid changing your baby's outfit 20 times a day with these baby bibs.. with sleeves! Genius.
4. Sleep Bra
A sleep bra? What's a sleep bra? Can't I just use my normal nursing bra at night? Well, you can but.. these are on another level! No clasps just pure comfort and easy access for feeding! No more fiddling with nursing clips, simply pull to the side and feed in comfort. This is particularly good if you're co-sleeping due to the perfect combination of comfort and practicality.
5. Cosy Car Seat Blanket
It's cold, it's bleak and it's grey outside.. not ideal for a baby in a car seat. There are huge risks associated with putting babies in coats in their car seats and it is NOT recommended, these Cosy Car Seat Blankets are a great alternative. They keep babies warm, they keep babies happy and most importantly, they keep babies safe. This has been a game changer for my Summer baby when Winter came.
6. What Mummy Makes Meal Planner
Every busy Mama needs this meal planner. I find it so useful to go through and plan my meals each week - my eldest, Isabella, loves to help with this planning and then we always try and cook some of these meals together. Its turned into a really lovely family experience!
7. Baby Sensory Boxes
With baby classes on hold, there's no reason for your baby to miss out on essential experiences, this business creates Baby Sensory boxes! Full of different textures, colours and ideas for you to play with your baby - my little lockdown Lottie loves these boxes and it helps keep the ‘mum guilt’ at bay.
8. Kinderkraft Wooden Highchair
I LOVE this highchair, not only does it look great but it's easy to clean too! The footrest and ergonomic design offers support and comfort to your little one on their weaning journey, it also lasts until the age of approx. 5 year old!
9. Teething Mittens
Teething is so tough for both baby and Mama. The screaming, the dribbling, the pain - it's not fun. This can be even harder when they teeth early, before they can coordinate their hands to bring a teething toy to their mouth to relieve the discomfort. This is where Teething Mittens come into their own, babies by default, will bring their hands to their mouth. Simply attach the mittens and they will chew them until their heart's content (or until the teething stops).. another life saver!
10. Haakaa Manual Breast Pump
Pumping can be HARD work but this little attachment makes life that little bit easier. Simply attach it to the breast you're not feeding from and let it catch the let-down, the only effort required is to ensure that you (or little kicking legs) don't knock the pump off when in use - you don’t want to be crying over spilt milk (trust me, that’s happened). It's a great way to catch those extra oz's for your freezer.
So, there you have it, my top 10 baby buys! Do you think we missed anything? What were your essentials?
